As 2018 comes to a close, I want to wish all of you happy holidays. It’s been a year of transition as we installed a new Council, saw a significant wave of retirements, welcomed employees new to the organization or new to their position. We opened new facilities, including the downtown parking garage and Fire Station 1. We launched our new Hub intranet site, initiated new programs and services, and educated the community about our services, amenities, fiscal situation, and programs. We faced many challenges this year and worked together to address them. I appreciate your diligence and commitment as we seek to improve our infrastructure, streamline our processes, and update technology.
We also learned how much our community values the services we provide. Measure B was approved in November to maintain service levels and focus on a few priority areas. More on that with the start of the new year.
In the meantime, it’s important to take this opportunity to recharge, reflect and renew.
Thank you for the dedication and professionalism you bring to your work every day.
I wish each of you a safe, peaceful, and enjoyable time off.
