On Wednesday, Sept. 26 the Public Works Department hosted a demonstration of its roller compacted concrete paving project.
Visiting construction industry leaders from around California and Nevada came to see the innovative installation method and learn more about durability, cost savings, and safety benefits.
Road improvements using roller compacted concrete are currently in progress on Hickory Street, Atkinson Street, Denio Loop, and Washington Boulevard.
Senate Bill 1, also known as SB1, is partially funding the project. This gas tax was passed by the state legislature in 2017 and is helping close our roadway funding gap. Despite SB1 funds, Roseville only has about three-quarters of the necessary funding for proper road maintenance.
