Due to fires throughout California, we are experiencing unhealthy air quality (AQI) in Roseville and surrounding cities. We are following the City’s Outdoor Smoke Protection Plan, which explains that at differing times of high smoke density, for the sake of their safety, employees:
- may be either encouraged or mandated to wear protective dust masks (particulate respirators)
- may be asked to stop and/or move their work function to a safer location (for better air quality)
Management will monitor the quality of air and inform all affected employees of how to proceed should this plan be activated. At this point in time, mask use is encouraged, but voluntary. Please reach out to your supervisor if you would like to request an N95 mask. You also may monitor the air quality index by going to AirNow.gov.
