Downtown Library staff have been inspired to include our customers in their holiday giving this season. Administrative Technician Kaeley Kroening shares why she came up with this idea:
I guess my inspiration came from Fred. He is one of the library regulars and even though I am hardly upstairs working the public service desk he acknowledges me with my name. He has learned it and uses it. I think it’s awesome that he cares about our staff and we care about him and our other customers. We see our regular customers every single day. We feel like we know them and want them to know we care about them during the Holidays. So one day at our staff meeting I asked the group what they thought about this idea and everyone seemed to jump on board. Small acts of kindness can go a long way.
Giving begins on Dec. 9th. If City staff want to contribute, they can bring items to the Downtown Library. Any items not taken by library customers will be donated to The Gathering Inn. Here is a list of the items.
