Using Single Sign-on for city applications

Updated February 28, 2020

PingIDThe City is working to lessen the number of passwords needed for differing applications while adding more security to our network.  See this HUB Story for more about Single Sign On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

With this, we are launching PingID, the SSO/MFA application for Office 365, at 5:30 a.m., March 3.

In support of PingID Go-Live, the IT Help Desk will be available beginning at 5:30 a.m.  A successful launch confirmation email will be sent around 6 a.m. If you do not receive this email, please contact the Help Desk.

Please see these instructions for how to complete your PingID registration. This is a simple process and should take less than 5 minutes to complete. Once completed, you’re ready to use the app.

After go-live, when you go to login to an SSO/MFA application from outside the City network, you will receive a push notification on your phone to authenticate.

For future resources, you can also utilize the SSO MFA Project Site for more information and to find other updates. There you will be able to find department resources who have been walked through the PingID registration and can offer assistance if needed.
