Does this happen to you? You get sent a link to an important file, form or story on The Hub. You click the link but you get sent to The Hub front page.
What’s up with that?
This problem is being caused by the way The Hub authenticates users. In order to make The Hub available outside our firewall for use in the field, you must login using your city credentials.
When you are on the city network, that authentication happens automatically based on your computer login when you go to The Hub. But that has to happen before you can access any pages.
So if you’re browser is closed, or open but without having gone to The Hub - you must be authenticated before you can access your link. And that defaults to the front page.
This will help.
- Make The Hub the home page on your browser. You’ll be authenticated every time you open the browser. And you’ll see the latest Hub news every day.
- And then keep your browser open. You can minimize it to reduce clutter on your screen.
- Or if you get taken to The Hub front page from a link, keep the browser window open and click on the link again.
These tips won’t bring you untold riches and eternal happiness, but they will help you get to your links more quickly.
