Update from payroll:
Payroll has finished configuring the Workforce timekeeping system so Christmas Eve, December 24th, is set up as a normal holiday. Please update your timesheets accordingly.
Employees who are issued holiday hours will see them added on 12/21 in their Holiday Bank.
Remember to check the Leave Balances tab, “Show Details,” to verify you have used all your holiday hours. Unless your MOU has specific language stating otherwise, if you see “clear” on 12/31 your hours will be forfeited.
If amendments need to be made due to a change in hours worked after timesheets are submitted and approved on January 3, please email Payroll and be sure to include the following information:
Subject Line: Employee Name and ID: Request for Amendment
Cc the employees’ supervisor(s)
Date
In and out times
Pay Codes to change

On December 17, President Trump issued an Executive Order providing for Christmas Eve, December 24, to be a federal holiday. Employees in Local 39, IBEW, RPA, and RPOA already observe federally appointed holidays by the president in accordance with language in their MOUs.
At a special meeting on Dec. 20, the City Council approved an urgency order to extend the holiday to Roseville Firefighters, and Management and Confidential employees since they do not have this provision in their MOUs. Councilmembers noted their desire for consistency in providing this benefit across the city workforce.
As such, city offices will be closed all day on Tuesday, December 24 instead of at noon as originally planned.
The City will issue eight holiday hours (prorated for part-time) to eligible employees. Payroll will notify employees once the hours are uploaded in Workforce.
Employees who take the day off will need to report the holiday hours on their timesheet. Those employees who do not take the holiday off, must use holiday hours by December 31, 2019, or shall be paid in accordance with their applicable MOU. The hours will not carry over to the next calendar year.
