Two City projects were recognized with national awards from the Center for Digital Government, who
announced the winners of the 3rd annual Government Experience Awards today, September 17, 2019.
The awards recognize the achievements and best practices of states, cities, and counties that are radically improving the experience of government and pushing the boundaries of how citizen services are delivered.
We were one of five national winners of the “Overall City Government Experience Award.” This award recognizes the efforts of our Information Technology (IT) Department and cross-functional project team. Together, they created the new city-wide website and “The HUB.”
“The entire project team tackled this challenge by creating a couple of great websites that put the consumer first,” said Chief Information Officer Hong Sae. “The employees embraced a diverse set of technologies to provide information to our audiences in a secure, informative format. I’m very proud that we were successful in our efforts to interact with our community, and honored that our industry peers rewarded our projects with these national recognitions.”
The second national award recognized the
EngageRoseville project which addressed the City’s funding shortfall for the general budget. That project gathered information about our community’s financial and quality-of-life priorities.
The data that was gathered was submitted to the City Council during the summer of 2018. This action led to the placement of
Measure B on the November 2018 ballot. The measure passed with strong voter support.
The Roseville community is benefitting from our employee’s crafting of user-friendly solutions to solve a diverse set of needs. Their use of transparency and appreciating our audiences’ needs were central elements in the creation of these efforts.
