The City is updating employee insurance premiums
Every year in July the City is required to update employee premiums for the employee paid supplemental benefits with The Hartford insurance company. This includes Short-Term Disability and Supplemental-Life Insurance. The formula used to calculate these premiums uses a rate based on your age group. Short-Term Disability also factors your salary into the formula.

The premiums do not update every time an employee falls into a new age bracket or if their salary changes, we only update once per year in July. If you fall into a new age bracket or have had a change to your salary by July of each year, your premium will change based on your new rate.

We are updating the premiums next pay period and any changes will be reflected on your 7/13/2018 paycheck. If you are verifying any changes to your pay stub, the codes for the supplemental benefits are ST DISBL for short-term disability and SUPP LIF for supplemental life insurance.
