One of our employees recently took a moment out of his busy afternoon to help a complete stranger. That simple, momentary action helped to protect a totally unknown person. See how that brief effort was rewarded with great praise and gratitude in a letter sent from the public.
To the Head of the Development Services, Engineering Division, and to the Immediate Supervisor of Orville Chatterton:
Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is written in support of Orville Chatterton, one of your Construction Inspector Supervisors. Orville went out of his way to help me in a very important and personal way!! I have a Franklin Pocket Planner that I use in my business as a Special Education Teacher and Musician.
On Monday, April 23, of this year I had a business suit altered at All-star Alterations in Roseville. Upon exiting that establishment, I put my planner on the roof of my car (dumb!). Then I got in and took off. About two miles down Highway 65, I realized my error! So I turned around and was headed back to All-star when I got a phone call on my cell-phone. It was Orville asking if I were Clint Ritchie!! He had found my planner on the Blue Oaks Bridge over Highway 65 where you can enter 65. He said he saw it on the road.
Here’s where he gets the extra kudos!! He actually stopped and collected all my Gift Cards and credit cards that were scattered and put them back into my planner!! Then he called me. What an angel!! He asked me to meet him in front of the McDonald’s on Blue Oaks. I did and thanked him. It is men like Orville Chatterton that make this part of California a place I gladly call home! Roseville and your organization can be proud that you hire men with the integrity of Orville Chatterton!
Thank You Orville,
and Thank you, City of Roseville,
Sincerely,
Clint Ritchie
