Hiring Pause Implemented

Hiring Pause Implemented
While not quite a freeze, the City’s implemented a pause for hiring for full-time General Fund positions. As we’re in the midst of asking the community about its service priorities through EngageRoseville, this pause will allow us to make adjustments based on Council direction.

Exceptions for critical needs, public safety, and part-time positions will be considered by the Critical Hiring Committee which will determine which positions can be filled. Decisions on other positions will occur as we get through our budget building process this spring.

To submit a request, you will follow the established position request process.

Community input gathered through EngageRoseville will be presented to the City Council this spring prior to the Council’s Budget Workshop for FY2018-19.

The multi-faceted EngageRoseville effort includes the Community Priorities Advisory Committee, online FlashVote surveys, a February 26 Community Conversation about Priorities with the public at Maidu Community Center, and Balancing Act, an online gamification of our budget to allow residents the opportunity to build a city budget and identify help their priorities by where they allocate funding. EngageRoseville.com has the latest information, videos, and podcasts.

If you have any questions regarding specific positions impacted please speak to your department director.
